As was recently pointed out to me, all of the expansion packs have the same Creative Commons license that the main base set does. So there's nothing illegal about these PDFs existing and being distributed, as far as I know. If CAH wanted them removed from this subreddit, then they can PM me and let me know what's up, and I'll cheerfully listen to what they have to say and do what I gotta do.

In the meantime, feel free to downvote this if you don't think this content contributes to the subreddit. Others may feel differently, which is way for now I've approved this post despite receiving a report about it.

Correct in that DropCanvas is the only approved file-sharing service on this subreddit, and that you used another one, so your previous post got removed.Should you be posting this sort of thing at all? I have my doubts, sir. I admit to not knowing all the ins and outs of the Creative Commons license that CAH uses, but my understanding at this point is that the 'freely distributable' part of the CAH cards is the main base set. That the various expansion packs are copyrighted and should not be distributed the way you are doing so; it possibly amounts to bootlegging/piracy. Honestly, if CAH sent me a takedown notice for your post, I'd remove it in a heartbeat.What's more, even if the CAH stance on this is that the expansion packs are all freely distributable under the Creative Commons license (and it might be the case), well.you're putting this up just a day or two after the 5th Expansion Pack has gone on sale, so you're not even giving them a chance to make a buck off of their work before helping people print them off without paying the creators a dime.

It truly doesn't encourage them to make more stuff. There are plenty of freely distributable card ideas at (including 42 I've contributed); why not those instead?If you think there's a chance this shouldn't be posted.you're probably right.

It came off less diplomatic than I would like, but it's 5:30 AM here and I didn't get enough sleep, so I'm a bit grumpy. Having said that, I won't try to reword it because I doubt I do it better right now, and it still has the main substance of what I wanted to say. Just don't get so upset/mad/defensive; I'm not trying to 'spank' you. Just to communicate to you my thoughts on the subject.

Thanks for the reply, i'm not upset/mad/defensive lol; Its good to have a little clarification on the subject.I really dont want to step on the toes of the CAH creators by posting this, just trying to help out the players who have already printed a set and are wanting more cards in a compatible format.I have created lots of pdf's of official and unofficial expansions and it would be good to know which ones are copyrighted and which ones i can share with the community. I only posted the latest expansion because i assumed it would be the most sought after by the community.If this file does get taken down i wont bother sharing the official stuff but i would like to contribute by offering freely available sets in this format.It took a lot of effort to get the PDF's looking as close to the original as possible so i thought i'd share. FWIW, I have the first 4 expansion boxes and they are Creative Common, just like the original. I don't have the 5th yet (I ordered it yesterday, along with the BBB), but I'd assume it's the same. I don't mind buying the original for $10 since it costs more to custom print 100 cards through Printer Studio, and I do want to support further development of the game.I know some people print the cards at home and cut them out themselves, so CAH wouldn't make any money on that, but they'd probably not make any money off them anyway, since the list is already out.

But, I guess that's a risk a CAH took when they decided use a CC license and actually encourage people to print their own original set for free on their webpage. It's always seems like an odd way to run a business, to me, but they really don't seem opposed to people playing their game without paying for it.EDIT:I found the exact CC license CAH uses 'Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International':This seems to answer the question about reproduction, as long as it's non-commercial:Section 2 – Scope.a.

I guess the main reason i put these PDF's together is that i couldnt buy the main game or expansions from my country so the only way for me to get a hard copy of the game was Print n Play.Because i couldnt buy the cards in my country it was impossible for me to expand my set without making PnP cards and i know there are a lot of people in the same position as me.If i could have bought the game in the first place i wouldn't have bothered with this as i'd much rather have full size cards but printing them would have cost wayyy too much.

(The main set cost me $45 nzd for the PnP version i'd hate to think what the price would be at 9 cards per page). Thats good to hear, i'd be more interested in a PnP sized set however as i dont have a full sized set for them to go with.

I've read your first two card lists and think they would be great additions to the game.What license are they released under? I could quite easily make a pdf but as i mentioned before i don't want to step on any toes so i wouldn't do it without your permission.I'd be happy to donate for a copy of an official pdf or even buy PnP sized cards if you made them available. We didn't release under CC.

Mostly because we didn't (and still don't) understand how CC works on a very basic level. Also because we are very tiny, and we couldn't afford to pay lawyers to enforce CC if someone violated it.By staying under US copyright law, we can use existing enforcement structures in the event (for example) a factory in china decided to print bootleg versions and import them.As far as PnP goes, we intend to release our stuff that way sooner or later and would prefer to do it ourselves to make sure the formatting is correct.
